This project involved the 'hero', a Ceat Tyre rescuing a damsel in distress. To achieve the gothic look and feel, as well as the magical aspect of the tyre action, we used extensive 3D, multiple speed changes within the same scene, and rigs for the fighting. The basic location was enhanced with tracked 3D set extensions, matte paintings, and with light dirt and fog passes added to give a murky and dangerous environment. Everything from the side beams up were 3D set extensions. The tyre was a combination of live shoot with rigs, and in more than half the shots, a fully 3D tyre. Multiple lighting and texture passes were rendered so that the integration was seamless. The talent's action was achieved using wire rigs, with clean backgrounds shot for rig removal. Final grading and comps were done in Tremor.
